MAC Mineralize Skinfinish 'Gold Deposit'

For a while now, highlighting and the pursuit of "that glow" has been one of the more prevalent makeup trends. I have to admit, I didn't start experimenting with highlight powders until wayyyy after everyone else - I simply wasn't convinced that I would want to use anything other than the gorgeous champagne highlight in my beloved Sleek Contour Kit. However, I heard a lot of good things about the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish range, in particular the shade 'Gold Deposit'. After having someone personally message me on Snapchat to tell me that I had to try it, I finally succumbed and I'm glad I did.

According to MAC, Gold Deposit is a "soft reflective golden-bronze" and as you can see from the images above, that is definitely the case. The pigmentation and colour pay-off is great and it is an amazing shade for us WOC - no unsightly ashy tone here ladies!

I like to apply Gold Deposit on the very top of the cheekbones, using either a fan brush or the edge of a blush brush. The only thing I don't love about this product is the fact that it is very sparkly. If you go overboard with application it can look like you put glitter all over your face - great if you don't mind the 'human disco ball' look, but I prefer something a little more subtle lol. Due to this, I don't use Gold Deposit on the bridge of my nose or on my cupid's bow as I would with my other highlight powder.

At £24.00, I can't deny that this is a bit of a pricey product (partially why I delayed purchasing it for so long lol). However, it is so heavily pigmented that you use a minute amount of product for each application, so it will last for ages.

Have you tried Gold Deposit? What do you think of it?
Also if you have any other recommendations for highlighters you think I should try, let me know!
